JAINA Convention 2019 to take place in July

More than 300 community members from the Chicago area were gathered at the the Federation of Jain Association in North America (JAINA) meets the Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC) event, where it was discussed that the JAINA Convention 2019 will be held from July 4 to 7, in Los Angeles, California.

Mahesh Wadher, the convener of JAINA Convention 2019 and first Vice President of JAINA, told the audience that this year’s theme will be “Celebrating Jain Religion in 21st Century,” and laid out his vision of sole focus on volunteerism with an eye on comfort and convenience of the attendees that would set a new benchmark for future conventions.

The keynote speakers at the convention are Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Tulsi Gabbard, President of PETA Ingrid Newkirk, animal rights activist Philip Wollen, ISKCON Monk Gaur Gopal Das and Nipun Mehta, founder of Servicespace.org, a volunteer based non-profit.

They will speak on the topics of Seva, Satsang, Samarpan, Sadhana, Self-Realization, Current World Challenges and more.

Other guests who are to attend include Acharya Shri Chandanaji, Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, Acharya Namra Muniji through a live video conference, Gurudev Shri Rakeshbhai Jhaveri and Saman Shrutpragyaji.

Also, a 5,000 square-foot Jain Temple will be recreated for the convention and a Jain Academic Bowl (JAB) is to take place, as well as a “Jains Got Talent” (JGT), a cultural program called “One World, One Rhythm,” a “Jain Connect” where Jain youths can mingle and network, a “Bollywood Night” featuring Rex D’souza, Mauli Dave and Sunny Jadhav, an Art Workshop with Kartik Trivedi and Jain Yoga sessions.
