Indian Consulate in NY, and Odiya community host screening of Indian film

The Indian Consulate in New York, along with The Odisha Society of Americas-NYNJ chapters, held a screening of an Odiya film to celebrate Indian Cinema. 

The Consulate posted on its X account, @IndiainNewYork, it was “Celebrating Indian cinema in the USA!”

The event, held in Edison, NJ, was the screening of the Odia movie ‘Delivery Boy’ and was part of the Indian Film Festival series.

According to the Consulate, the event drew a crowd of more 270 attendees, “promoting cultural exchange & diversity through film!” 

The Odisha Society of Americas was formed in 1969 with a vision to “promote and propagate Odia culture in Americas by bringing together all the people interested in Odisha,” the website of the organization says.

“OSA strives to connect and network all Odia families across North America and build a dynamic and vibrant community promoting and celebrating Odia values and culture,” it adds.

The NYNJPA chapter says its goal is “to organize events, activities and volunteer opportunities to benefit you and your family and provide a platform for accomplishment and recognition.” The organization also brings out a literary magazine, Aama Aina.
