Eminent achievers, including an Indian American, receive Punjabi Icon Awards 2025 in Mumbai

Mumbai witnessed a night of Punjabi pride, glamour and cultural glory at the Baisakhi-Di-Raat Punjabi Icon Awards 2025, presented by the Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board.

This year’s edition of Baisakhi Di Raat was a glorious tribute to Punjabi excellence across industries, celebrating the trailblazers who continue to elevate and inspire the community, according to organizers. The lead organizer was President of the Punjabi Cultural Heritage Board Charan Singh Sapra.

The evening honored a stellar lineup of Hindi cinema stars and celebrities across the board, including Indian American Onkar Singh. Emceeing the evening was Satinder Satti. The performance by singer Afsana Khan was among the major highlights of the event.

The honored celebs included Bobby Deol for his enduring contribution to Indian cinema and his resurgence as a powerhouse performer, Raveena Tandon Thadani, honored as a timeless diva and cinematic icon, Angad Bedi for his dynamic presence and versatility in entertainment, Indian-American businessman and philanthropist Onkar Singh, recognized as a visionary leader shaping progressive change and Sandeep Batra, acknowledged for his excellence and impact as a corporate trailblazer.

Veteran actor and political stalwart Raj Babbar, Geeta Basra, versatile actors Sushant Singh and Mukesh Rishi, legendary music composer Anu Mallik, actress Upasana Singh, music maker Ramji Gulati, television’s stars Eisha Singh and Avinash Mishra and many more personalities present at the event were also presented with trophies.

In the words of Sapra, “This event is not just about awards. It’s a celebration of our vibrant culture, of the indomitable Punjabi spirit and of individuals who carry the legacy of excellence and inspiration in their respective fields.”
