Shooting of the immensely popular dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer’ was postponed for a week after Bollywood actress Malaika Arora who is on the judging panel tested positive for COVID-19.

But avid fans did not have to wait long. Actress and singer Nora Fatehi replaces Malaika while the latter recovers. The crew was going to shoot an episode on Monday, September 7, but it has now been postponed.

Malaika announced her diagnosis on Sept. 8, 2020, on Instagram.

“Today I have tested positive for coronavirus but I want to inform you all that I am feeling fine. I am asymptomatic and following all the required protocols and will be quarantined at home as instructed by my doctor and authorities. I request all of you to stay calm and safe. Thank you for all your support,” she said.

Ranjeet Thakur, producer of the show, told Times of India, “Earlier, we felt that there was not much time left to rope in another special judge on such short notice. But, thankfully, Nora who had come as a special guest for an earlier episode, will step in again this week as a special judge. I am thankful that she has agreed. Malaika will come back on the show after she recovers from COVID-19.”

Like every other TV show, the show’s producers say they have taken extensive care on the set to ensure that social distancing is maintained as much as possible and sanitizers are readily available..

The show has three judges Geeta Kapur, Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis. It airs at 8pm EST on Sony Entertainment Television and has a large following in the U.S.
