Crowd cheering and kheti baari for Ankur Rathee in Haryana

The principal actors of the forthcoming feature film, Shehzada— Kartik Aaryan, Kriti Sanon, Paresh Rawal and Ankur Rathee—recently wrapped up their shooting schedule in Haryana.

The film, directed by Rohit Dhawan, will have a February 2023 release. Pritam scores music for this Hindi reworking of the famous Telugu hit, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Kartik and Ankur shared videos on their Instagrams, which showed crowd of fans cheering for the actors. Kriti Sanon’s birthday, which fell earlier on July 27, was also mobbed by fans even as the unit celebrated her big day together.

Taking to Instagram, Kartik shared a video featuring the people of Haryana cheering for him as he walks towards them and shakes hands. An elated Kartik, shared the video, writing, “Thank u Haryana for giving so much love to #Shehzada #EndOfSchedule”

Ankur, who is originally from Haryana, also posted a video with fans and was seen interacting with them in Haryanvi. He shared a reel and wrote, “No better surprise after a long day of shoot. Thanks for making me feel so special Haryana. #Shehzada #PhirMilenge”

He said, “I come from a family of Jat farmers, so when I knew I had a few hours before my next scene, I snuck away from production and chatted up a few farmers who let me climb into the muddy fields with them. A little kheti baari (farming).”

Ankur, who swings between Mumbai and the US, originally hails from Haryana and speaks the language fluently. Despite his NRI status, he has always remained close to his roots. Ankur has recently wed another NRI actress, Anuja Joshi of Hello Mini and Thappad fame. The couple wed at a 500 year-old manor in England.Anuja is the daughter of famous 1970s child actor Master Alankar, whose sister is The Kashmir Files actress Pallavi Joshi.
