BAPS Charities participates in The Joy of Others Walk/Run supporting Susan G. Komen

On June 26, 2022, BAPS Charities in Parsippany, NJ held In the Joy of Others: Walk | Run, to support the Susan G. Komen, a organization that supports breast cancer patients.

More than 300 members of the community belonging to all ages including 7-year-olds to senior citizens, to part in the event.

Parsippany Mayor James R Barberio as well as Congressrional candidate for District 11, Paul Degroot, were also present and participated in a walk around Lake Parsippany.

“I had the privilege of working with some tremendous members of my community here in Parsippany and I am grateful for their efforts in this endeavor,” Rushikesh Dave, event lead, is quoted saying in a press release from BAPS. “I want to talk about a 10-year-old Parthvi from Lake Parsippany who created hand-written ‘Statement of Purpose’ and went door to door in Lake Parsippany area raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. Her effort is especially touching as it highlights the effect of genuine compassion and openness,” Dave added.

Paula Schneider, president and CEO of Susan G. Komen said her organization was proud to partner with BAPS Charities because it is a service-minded organization, and “demonstrate that generously every day.”

In addition to the annual walk/run, BAPS Charities actively supports health and well-being efforts throughout the year through Health Fairs, Health Awareness Lectures, and Children’s Health and Safety Day.

BAPS Charities also organizes other socially responsible & humanitarian events throughout the year such as Blood Donation Drives, Food Drives, and Earth Day, the press release noted.

BAPS Charities is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit international charity organization “committed to sincerely serving the world by caring for individuals, families, and communities,” says the organization’s mission statement.

It is affiliated with BAPS as an independent charity and social services arm. According to the organization, there are 55,000 BAPS volunteers networked in over 3,300 centers around the world provide over 12 million volunteer-hours of service annually.
