Swirling seas around, and twirling people aboard.

The song launch of Money money¸ a dance number penned, composed, rendered and enacted by YoY o Honey Singh and choreographed by Rajit Dev for Raid 2, was held on the RoRo Ferry that goes from Ferry Wharf in Mumbai to Mandwa Jetty near Alibag.

The media and some models and starlets along with other guests were hosted at a ‘Sundowner’ by T-Series Films and Panorama Studios on a round trip where the song as well as the earlier-released Nasha were shown along with the film’s trailer. Before the formal launch, a couple of media-persons sashayed to the song, Nasha, which was released earlier.

The movie, a true sequel to the 2018 movie, Raid, features Ajay Devgn as the honest Income-Tax Department officer and Vaani Kapoor with Riteish Deshmukh as the new antagonist. The older film’s villain, Saurabh Shukla, also plays a key role. Jacqueline Fernandez and Tamannaah Bhatia make song cameos. The principal composer is Amit Trivedi.

Singh was in his element and insisted that a media-person also dance to his song. Choosing a young Sardar, he danced with him for a few seconds. He also lavished praise on Bhushan Kumar (Singh’s first film song was Lungi dance from Chennai Express 12 years ago) and on Ajay Devgn, reminiscing that when he did his first song for him, he had been late by four hours, but Devgn had been cool about it and very courteous. He admitted to be a great fan of the actor and said that the current song was cracked in Delhi.

T-Series head honcho Bhushan Kumar stated that Raid 2 had situational songs and was not one of those movies in which his music label had to push for more situations and tracks. Choreographer Rajit Dev said that doing the song’s moves from his point of view was an easy job as it was “A banger of a song”!

Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak let on that Ajay, with whom his association has lasted for over two decades, was never too happy with dance moves, even if he had no issues with singing songs on screen.

Drishyam 2 director Abhishek Pathak and music video director Mihir Gulati were also present along with Shiv Chanana, co-producer at T-Series. The evening concluded with drinks and dinner, even if the media acutely missed the promised (in the itinerary sent) “Informal conversations with the talent” as the unit members disembarked at Mandwa Jetty and sped off in speedboats!

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. Supriya Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Amit Sial play key roles.
