A collab that no one saw coming,: Sourav Ganguly becomes Khakee Superfan!

As Netflix gears up for the premiere of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter on March 20, an unexpected superfan, India’s beloved cricket icon Sourav Ganguly, has taken the internet by storm. Speculations were rife about Dada’s cameo in the Netflix series, but the wait is finally over. Did Dada don the uniform? Yes, he did. Not in the series, but for a collab that no one saw coming!

So, what is his role in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter? Well, if he can’t be in the show, he’s taking on the next best thing—becoming the ultimate superfan and spreading the word. And when Dada is in your team, victory is inevitable!

Talking about this unexpected epic collab, Sourav Ganguly shares, “As someone who has always been passionate about thrillers and cop dramas, Khakee as a franchise is definitely one of my favorites. So when Netflix approached me, I was excited to collaborate with them for the newest installment, The Bengal Chapter, in the capacity of a superfan. And I truly feel that.”

He adds, “The series has been extensively shot in Kolkata and the gripping narrative and stellar performances make it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a well-made thriller. I have the deepest respect and admiration for Neeraj Pandey, the writer-producer, and this collaboration with Netflix has been an absolute delight. It’s a first for me, and I would like to extend my best wishes to the entire team.”

Backed by Friday Storytellers, Netflix’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is captained by Showrunner Neeraj Pandey. Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the series features Jeet Madnani, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik, Aadil Zafar Khan, Chitrangda Singh, Parambrata Chatterjee,  Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakraborty and Shraddha Das.

Written by Neeraj Pandey, Debatma Mandal and Samrat Chakroborty, the show is produced by Shital Bhatia. The first installment, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, was aired in 2022. Pandey and his producer and team always celebrate the police, the army and the espionage agents in their films and series.
