SACO holds annual Interfaith Holiday Party

The South Asian Community Outreach (SACO) held their sixth annual Interfaith Holiday Party on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, NJ.

About 400 people of different faiths came to socialize and celebrate the holidays.

The party was also started with a prayer by religious leaders of different faiths including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and Islam.

“No matter what hatred and messages people are sending across about different religions, people are still united and are living side by side, peacefully in America,” said Sam Khan, the founder and president of SACO.

Many were also awarded and honored for their involvement in the community this year:

  • Padma Shri H.R. Shah – Citizen of the Year
  • Bishnu Maya Pariyar – Community Service
  • Balinder Singh Kundu – Service Impact
  • Dilip Chauhan – Community Outreach
  • Kulraaj Bhushan Anand – South Asian Community Voice
  • Mohammad Zubair – Civic Awareness
  • Jimmy Small – Social Justice
  • Clarisa Romero – Community Leadership
