Indian organization representing entrepreneurs recognizes Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh

The All India Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Association (AIMA-MSME) recognized the achievements of Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media and ITV Gold, by conferring an ‘Honorary Membership’ on him, Sept. 11, 2019. Dr. Parikh is also chairman of one of the largest allergy and immunology groups, the Center for Asthma & Allergy, overseeing a string of 24 clinics in the tri-state area, as well as the recipient of several awards.

The honor was bestowed on Dr. Parikh in Edison, N.J., by AIMA MSME National President Dr. Avinash K. Dalal.

The AIMA MSME has its headquarters in Mumbai and is a pan-India organization that seeks to represent “self made” MSME’s engaged in various types of trade, commerce and industry, and the organization estimates that around 8 percent of India’s GDP and 45 percent of the manufacturing output and 40 percent of its exports are generation by this sector, according to the website.

“It is pleasure to inform you that All India MSME association has decided to confer upon you the Honorary Membership of the association as a NRI entrepreneur” the organization said in its letter to Dr. Parikh.

The Indian organization said it hopes to work with Dr. Parikh “for betterment of Bilateral trade and commerce between our nation(s).”

Padma Shri Dr. Parikh is among the most honored Indian-Americans in the country. Apart from the Padma Shri conferred on him in 2010, he has received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman and the Padma Shri. In October 2013, Dr. Parikh was hon- ored with the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman at Britain’s House of Lords, by Rt. Hon. Baroness Sandip Verma. In March 2012, recognizing his philanthropic contributions, Dr. Parikh has been nominated as Knight of the Ecumenical Hospitaller Order of St. John Knights of Malta. In 2018, he got the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Vishwa Pratibha Award, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and later, the same year, was conferred the Global Gujarati Award, in Toronto, Canada.

He is also the chairman of the non-governmental organization, Life Global.
