Indian Americans Narsan Lingala, 55, formerly of Woodbridge and Edison, and his ex-girlfriend Sandya Reddy, 52, have been charged by criminal complaint with one count of murder-for-hire.

According to a Department of Justice press release, the complaint states that while Lingala was in jail during May of last year, he hired a hitman to kill his ex-wife.

The hitman, who was an undercover officer, then agreed to meet Lingala and Reddy outside of a mall in New Jersey where they proceeded to have a conversation that was recorded on video.

During the conversation, Lingala gave the undercover hitman his ex-wife’s full name, home address, age and home phone number, and even described the entrances to and layout of her home.

They also discussed the amount of money that Lingala would give the undercover hitman.

Lingala and Reddy were arrested after the meeting.

If convicted, they will face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, according to a Department of Justice press release.
