FIA hosts Community Outreach program for Chakravorty

NEW YORK – The Federation of Indian Associations (FIA-NY/NJ/CT), members of the Indian American community and the TV Asia Group organized a Community Outreach program and interaction with the Consul General of India in New York Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty, at TV Asia studios, on December 20.

More than 300 people attended the event. FIA President Andy Bhatia greeted all attendees and welcomed Chairman of FIA Ramesh Patel to deliver a speech.

Patel explained efforts of FIA to smoothen visa/OCI related issues which were of a big concern for the Indian American community.

Padma Shri H.R. Shah, the chairman of TV Asia, in a speech extended his support for community events.

Suchita Patel greeted Chakravorty with a flower bouquet.

In his speech and subsequent 90-minute of interaction with the community, Chakravorty explained the day-to-day operations of the Consul General’s office and the challenges they face. He also talked about what his office has been doing to make it more effective for the community.

The President-Elect of FIA 2018, Srujal Parikh, thanked the Consul General for his assurance of support for the upcoming parade and unveiled the sponsorship package for the year 2018.
