Bhakti and Bollywood songs regale audience at Shaam-e-Dhun concert

The DHUN Musical Group USA brought ‘Shaam-e-Dhun’ musical concert to the Siddhivinayak temple at Toms River, NJ, on the occasion of the first day of Navratri.

The event was kicked off by aarti at the temple followed by a mesmerizing musical night by the DHUN team. The musical evening was attended by more than 200 devotees of the temple and Indian community, according to a press release.

The Dhun musical group was founded by Rajeev Singh, with a vision to promote local musical talent in the communities by providing them a platform and at the same time by bringing quality entertainment at a reasonable cost.

The Siddhivinayak Temple USA is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The Indian Cultural & Community Center runs Gurukul classes for children and Yoga classes on weekends.

Throughout the night there were songs of Bhakti and Bollywood brought by the DHUN team’s melodious and exceptionally talented singers:  Shilpa Bhansali, Gauri Pandey, Shilpi Kundu, Sonal Shukla, Sandeep Singh and Rajeev Singh. Anubha Raj added much flavor to the beautiful singing as an MC for the show.

The Chief Guest was Padma Shi Dr. Sudhir Parikh, the Chairman and Founder of Parikh Worldwide Media. In his message, Dr. Parikh emphasized importance of Indian/Bollywood music in keeping and promoting Indian values and culture in the US. He appreciated Rajeev Singh’s effort in this field. He also congratulated Siddhivinayak temple management for hosting a terrific event.

Dr. Avinash Gupta, Chairman, Executive Board, SSVT & ICCC along with the temple management organized the musical evening for the temple. The event was supported by other community organizations like Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America and Federations of India. The Presidents of these organizations, Vinay Singh and Alok Kumar, respectively, were also present at the occasion.
