Indian-American comedian, actor and author Aziz Ansari and his seminal TV series “Master of None,” has been nominated in three categories for the Golden Globe awards Dec. 11. The winners will be announced Jan. 7.

Ansari is nominated in the category “Best actor in a TV series, comedy,” for his role in “Master of None” the Netflix rom-com – where he plays an eclectic New Yorker searching for love in so many different ways, including ending up in Italy as a student of the art of pasta-making and other things.

He is competing in this category with Anthony Anderson, “Blackish” (ABC); Eric McCormack, “Will &Grace” (NBC); Kevin Bacon, “I Love Dick” (Amazon); and William H. Macy, “Shameless” (Showtime).
