American Publisher Salutes Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust’s Work Uplifting Poorest Of Poor

This July 18, Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media and ITV Gold,  held productive discussions in Rajkot, Gujarat, with representatives of the Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust as well as the National Service Scheme of Saurashtra University, on their educational initiatives for underprivileged and extremely poor students.

The Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust is a foundation established by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and his wife Anjali Rupani in memory of their son Pujit. Dr. Parikh saluted the work of the Trust in uplifting the poorest of the poor.

At the meeting attended by Mehul Rupani, trustee of the Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust, as well as Chancellor of Saurashtra University Nitin Pethani, and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Vijay Desani, Dr. Parikh discussed signing an MOU to bring his resources to bear on their effort to bring quality education including science, to extremely underprivileged students.

Dr. Parikh promised to help expand the education activities of the Trust by focusing media attention on it, and also assist in bringing the resources of the Parikh Foundation for India’s Global Development, and various other non-profit organizations that he works with such as Life Global, Share and Care, etc.

Others who took part in the discussion included University professors, R.D. Vaghani, Dr. Jaydipsinh K. Dodiya and Dr. P.G. Marvaniya. Also present was Dr. Balvant Jani, consulting editor of Gujarat Times and former professor and head of the department of Gujarati at Saurashtra University.

Trustee Bharat Mehta promised to support the initiative by providing scientific devices to underprivileged students of Narmada Bal Ghar.

Before the function, Dr. Parikh, Dr. Jani, Digant Sompura, Mehta and Kirit Vasa of Life Global, were given a tour of the facility by Kalpak Maniar of Patria Suites. Maniar shared details about the expansion of co-operative banks in foreign countries. He also gave information  about facilities, which may be given for Gir cow milk distribution to the people.
