Indian-American non-profit, World Vegan Vision, held a health seminar in Hicksville, N.Y.

It was a full-house with standing room only at the Feb. 10, Vegan Life Style Health Seminar hosted by the non-profit organization, World Vegan Vision, at the W.P. Bennet Hicksville Community Center, in Hicksville, NY. It was a great success organizers said in a press release.

Several speakers addressed the gathering.

Dr. Preeti Mehta,  went into details about the effect of various foods on the small and large intestines and the theory of Microdome – which says millions of different bacteria working in the body varies with different foods, and the benefits of eating vegan.

Dr. Hanisha Patel explained the benefits of organic and natural plant-based foods and benefits

of micronutrients from various colored plant-based foods, and the naturopathic way of life.

Rakesh Bhargava, a vegan for the last 17 years, explained the benefits of vegan foods and

health with examples and slides of natural and vegan foods. He presented statistics on the benefits of a vegan diet.

Hicksville Township officials also attended and presented a Hicksville City Citation

to the key members of World Vegan Vision, recognizing the organization’s “selfless service” to humanity and healthy living, the press release said.

Guests participated actively asking many questions about managing good health with food instead of pills, keeping speakers busy during each session, the press release said.

Organizers thanks Kanak Golia for sponsoring the event, and the speakers for sharing their time, talent and knowledge. They also thanked Hicksville city officials for providing the community center and recognizing the non-profit organization.

World Vegan Vision also appreciated the media participation of ITV Gold which is owned by Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh of Parikh Worldwide Media, as well as TV Asia, and WVV executives like Chandra Mehta, vice chairman, Bina Sabapathy, president, Nitin Vyas, director of public relations, Vinod Shah, director of development, and Tejal Raval, treasurer, the press release said.

Two delegates from Bhakti Vedant Institute of Spiritual And Cultural Science, Princeton, also attended and shared their views.

A vegan lunch was catered by RajBhog Foods.

Organizers said those attending asked for more such events, and announced that it has plans to hold many similar ones this year.

World Vegan Vision, earlier called Vegetarian Vision, was founded by H.K.Shah 30 years ago, according to the organization’s website.
